Pinotage is a grape unique to South Africa, where it was created in 1925 as a cross between the Pinot Noir and Cinsault (SAHN-so) varietals. This grape doesn’t get the most respect throughout the wine world, but its mellow and complex structural components along with its unique aroma/flavor profile makes an incredibly food friendly partner to hamburgers, texmex, and Mexican dishes.
