"For this special Napa Valley red, I held back a barrel of the 2016 and one barrel of the 2017 Cabernet sauvignon from the same vineyard to blend together. Capturing a mini vertical of barreled wines. This wine is silky on the palate with rich fruit and well integrated tannins. It opens with perfumed notes of boysenberry, raspberry, leading to cherry pie, spiced pipe tobacco and caramel.  The palate reveals chocolate covered espresso beans, blackberry, caramel and vanilla with a silky finish.

Dedicated to my husband, Ben for his patience and unrelenting support for my wine adventure. The original artwork for the label was created by Jeannine Luke."

–Winemaker Stephanie Trotter Zacharia
Appearance medium garnet
Aromas raspberry, red cherry, dark chocolate, toffee, bay leaf, eucalyptus
Palate cherry, cocoa bean, cedar wood, vibrant acidity, soft tannins, lingering finish
Food Pairing Suggestions
This Cabernet Sauvignon will pair nicely with lamb, beef, pork, sausage, grilled meats, stews, and game. Dishes with black olives, black pepper, pungent herbs, and mushrooms will also compliment the wine's flavors nicely. Hard cheeses and salami make a perfect accompaniment for cocktail hour.

About the Winery
Trotter 1/16 Winery
With one goal in mind, Stephanie left her home and her family in Philadelphia and set out to California to pursue her dream of making wine. After years of working her way up from tasting rooms to cellar master to apprentice winemaker learning the trade, she produced her first vintage in 2011. It was a challenging year to make wine in Napa Valley. Cool weather and heavy rains were obstacles, insurmountable for some.
