About The Vineyard

“Our renowned State Lane Vineyard features a unique diversity of soils, the result of a century’s old alluvial fan which is comprised of gravel, clay loam and ancient costal deposits. This soil composition is idyllic for the varietals we have planted here.

Located between the warmer up-valley climate and the cooling maritime influence of the San Francisco Bay to the south, our State Lane Vineyard traditionally sees an extended growing season ensuring wines that offer finesse and balance connected by vibrant, energetic tannins.” – Christi Coors Ficeli, Vintner

Winemaker Notes

“We are proud to bring you the purist expression of our State Lane Vineyard, where we nurture fruit of intense flavor, balance and character. We carefully craft this wine for you, our friends and family, to enjoy one glass at a time.

From a warm/hot growing season this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon features fruit from all 5 blocks that we have on the State Lane Vineyard. Each block was harvested and fermented separately. And then aged in barrels that specifically highlight and enhance each wine’s characters. After aging diligent barrel selection led to the composition of the final blend for this wine.” – Christi Coors Ficeli, Vintner

Aged 22 months in French oak, 65% new

About the Winery
Goosecross Cellars
A quintessential boutique winery with its beginnings in the 1970s, the next chapter of Napa Valley's Goosecross Cellars – named for the pair of geese that made the estate their home – is now being written by CEO and Vintner, Christi Coors Ficeli. Exactly how does a gal from one of America’s foremost beer families end up making wine in Napa Valley? Simply put, Christi and her husband actually met while working at a winery (Gallo). They decided one day they wanted to live in Napa Valley full time, raise a family and be a part of the community with which they fell in love. And they did just that!
