About The Vineyard
Goosecross sources grapes from some of the most prestigious and exciting locations in Napa Valley; from the sloping vineyards of Howell Mountain, to the shores of San Pablo Bay in Carneros. These sites are hand selected based on their discerning and unique characteristics. After harvest, the fruit is perfected in the cellar into beautifully complex balanced wines by our legendary winemaker Bill Nancarrow.
Located on the western side of the Oakville appellation, Game Farm Vineyard lays on top of the old course of the Rector Creek. The soils are essentially 100% river rock. This incredibly rocky structure allows for a very free-draining environment for the vines to grow in. Because of this, the root systems have run deep in an attempt to find adequate water resources, and in turn, feeds complex minerals to the vines.
Winemaker Notes
“Our Summit Selection wines have been crafted to celebrate vineyard sites that push the boundaries of farming and winemaking. Single-vineyard sites especially, demand more dilligence in the vineyard and longer hours in the winery, We’re proud of all the wines we grow and compose; Summit Selection, we feel being one of our best. We hope you’ll enjoy raising a glass and sharing this special wine with friends and family.” – Vintner Christi Coors Ficeli
