“Although this is our first bottling from this magnificent Oak Knoll vineyard, our Winemaker has been working with the fruit since the 2007 vintage. The lean soils of this warm and uniquely exposed “bowl” site yield clusters in below average size, resulting in character and richness. The diminutive berries permit a rare and perfect ripening year over year. We wanted to round out our beautiful Bordeaux assortment of wines with this classic Rhône varietal, so when the fruit became available, we knew we had to have it!”

“2015 was an especially stunning vintage for this vineyard. While it was another dry year, late winter rains recharged the soil giving the vines an excellent push come spring. The balance of fruit to canopy was optimal, giving engines for ripeness while allowing in the dappled sunlight we seek for flavor and color development. We already expected a smaller vintage after three years of drought, then cool temperatures extended bloom yielding an even lighter crop load. Thankfully the upside of a smaller crop is the wonderful concentration of aromas and flavors. This is a wonderful vintage for demonstrating what makes this site so special to us.”

Outside of winemaking, Jennifer keeps herself busy with gardening, exploring an eclectic range of hobbies and fermentation of all sorts. Jennifer lives in Alta Heights, Napa with her family and animal menagerie.
