Winemaker Notes

Spring Hill Ranch lies just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean along the Sonoma Coast.

This vineyard continually produces expressive wines and this vintage is no exception. Flavors of black cherry, cedar, tobacco, sandalwood, and forest floor; transitioning into a juicy and long earthy finish.

Aged on the lees for 10 months in 40% new French oak.

Join us on SIP Virtual Wine Tasting with Winemaker Kevin Bersofsky on September 2nd, 2022 to learn about the factors that impact Pinot Noir flavor profiles.

WInemaker Kevin Bersofsky Montagne Russe Wines

Kevin Bersofsky, Owner and Winemaker, began his budding career as a garagiste (garage) winemaker in 2006. After learning that his “premium” grape source – stolen from behind a library in St. Helena – had been suffering from phylloxera for many years, it was obvious why his wines were less than stellar. Kevin was forced to dump 1,200 bottles of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Pinot Noir on the ground.  But he picked himself up after this “traumatic experience”, said goodbye to the garage, and officially launched Montagne Russe.
