About The Wines

Oakville

Goldschmidt Vineyards “Hilary Goldschmidt” 2018 Charming Creek Cabernet Sauvignon

100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41 year old vines, Clone 7

The Oakville district is the heart and soul of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, where the coolness of the south meets up-valley warmth in perfect equilibrium. Oakville isn’t too hot; it isn’t too cold. It’s just right. That’s why Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville so perfectly expresses the essential qualities of the varietal in deep, complex wines that can last for decades. Charming Creek is located on Route 29 just north of Oakville Cross Rd. The old Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon vines here give perfumed aromatics but also silkiness, deep color, power and richness. Also typical of Clone 7, the wines age very gracefully and show good acidity and structure when older. After 10 years this vineyard will still show dark fruits and supple tannins.

Rutherford

Greyscale Wines 2016 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

92% Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 year-old vines, Clone 4, 6% Oak Knoll District Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc

95 points – 2019 Beverage Tasting Institute

The Cabernet grapes came from a famed vineyard in Rutherford located in the middle of the valley between Conn Creek and Silverado Trail. The vineyard, first planted in 1895 by Mrs. Thomas Rutherford, has provided grapes for many prominent Napa Valley Cabernets. The vines are 30 years old and grafted with Clone 4 Cabernet grapes that have a strong flavor intensity with excellent color, aromas and palate balance. This particular vineyard is known for producing wines with elegant, silky fruit rather than powerful, blockbuster flavors as found in some Napa Valley cult wines. Every time we taste wines produced from this vineyards we are reminded of the elegance and soft mouthfeel of the wine.
Coombsville
100% Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
In 1999 Robert & Susan McNerney purchased a 2 acre property in East Napa and in 2002 planted 1 acre of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes known to be the best varietal to thrive in this area. Their Coombsville property was later to become a part of the 16th AVA of the Napa Valley in 2011. Planted with a vision of sharing a small lot Cabernet with family and friends while selling the bulk of the grapes to help provide income for their still young family of five was their goal.

Sciandri Family Vineyards 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon

100% Cabernet Sauvignon

The 4+ acre vineyard on Sciandri 20 acre estate is allied with the Napa Green Certified Land Program, which includes a certification for Fish Friendly Farming. The family focuses on sustainable practices related to soil, drainage, wildlife and more.

Atlas Peak

Angelo Cellars 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon

91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Franc

As the saying goes, location, location, location! This famed vineyard, perhaps one of the most sought after vineyards in Napa Valley, is the fruit source for this little hidden gem. It was recently purchased by Gallo for $180M, which means the fabulous small lot wines previously hand-crafted from this vineyard by producers like Blackbird, Pahlmeyer, Aaron Pott’s private label and of course, Angelo Cellars, may go away once their contracts expire. So we say, be in the moment and enjoy it while you can.

Oak Knoll District

Hersly Wines 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon

100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Lazare Vineyard, is located in the Oak Knoll District, on the southern part of Napa Valley. Here, it’s warm enough to perfectly ripen red varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Zinfandel while being cool enough for grapes like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
