About Jeff Bost, PAC

Jeffrey W. Bost, PAC, graduated with a BS in 1983 from Allegheny College and received his physician assistant degree in 1985. After working with a cardiology practice from 1985 to 1987 he joined Joseph Maroon, MD, and Tri-State Neurosurgical Associates group at Allegheny General Hospital in June of 1987. In 1999, he and Tri-State moved to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.  For 32 years his duties included clinical patient care, surgical assistant, study coordinator and researcher in the Department of Neurosurgery at UPMC. And since 2019 Mr. Bost has worked exclusively as a researcher and writer for neurosurgeon and colleague Dr Joseph Maroon.

He has given over 100 invited lectures, coordinated 16 workshops, 24 national posters and oral presentations.  Topics have included neurosurgical related conditions of the brain and spine, concussion, health and wellness, disease prevention, degenerative diseases of the brain and the use and benefits of dietary and herbal supplements.  Workshops and symposiums have also included the topics of dementia, endocannabinoids, omega-3, fish oil, resveratrol, ketogenic diet, longevity, fall prevention and others.  He has been a coordinator for 29 IRB-approved research projects. His has authored or co-authored 37 refereed articles, 14 book chapters and co-wrote 4 books, including two on omega-3 fish oil.
