Barlow Vineyards is a true family business with two generations working the land and vineyards passionately. Warren and Jeanne Smith and Barr and Ann Smith relocated from Southern California seeking a life style change and to fulfill a life time dream. The land they purchased, now known as Barlow Vineyards, is an ideal 54 acre vineyard just south of Calistoga at the upper end of the Napa Valley. They all recognized the area was well known for producing intense red wines.
Their first very small production of Cabernet Sauvignon, originally meant for family consumption, exceeded their wildest expectations. The winemaker informed them that the 100% single vineyard fruit had produced an outstanding full-bodied wine with marvelous flavors, a long finish and a great mouth feel.
Inspiration was born and the family decided to share their treasure with the world and go into business making small production wines.
The vineyard now grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc, and Petite Verdot grapes. Barlow Vineyards is proud to produce award winning, single varietal wines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Zinfandel, in addition to a Bordeaux style blend.
