The Chafen family puts as much effort into being environmentally responsible as they do into their fabulously well-made wines. As a certified organic farm, Dutch Henry is doing its part to reduce their carbon footprint by installing solar panels and working with the land and terrain available. One way they have used smart energy practices is by building a subterranean wine cave, which not only keeps the wines at a consistent temperature and humidity level, but also requires less energy. The cave is used to store the wines and also functions as a tasting room. The extra effort and attention to detail put into the design of the winery is reflected in the creation of their wines. All around, there are good things coming from Dutch Henry!
