Entrepreneur Wines

Using wine as a platform to change the world is catching on.  And the team behind Entrepreneur Wines is doing something quite special to help lead the charge.

Founded by Chief Wine Angels Randy & Patty Haykin, the mission of Entrepreneur Wines is to positively impact 50 million underprivileged and under-served children in the next 5 years.  How do they do that?  Through the sale of their hand-crafted, small production wines from Napa’s top winemakers and premium vineyard plots.

As an entrepreneur at tech innovators including Apple and Yahoo, a founder of a VC fund and an angel investor, Randy had the opportunity to serve as a mentor to budding social entrepreneurs through the Gratitude Network. This group of experienced leaders helps identify, nurture and fund innovative social organizations who are impacting the lives of children and changing the face of education worldwide. 

In 2010, the Haykin’s turned their love of wine into a brand, named in honor of the entrepreneurs Randy worked with in his career. With the realization that wine vintners can do good, they combined their wine brand with their passion for giving back. Through the Gratitude Network, they are able to donate ALL profits from wine sales to fund young social entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping children, helping with health issues and changing the world.

To create the type of wines which cater to the Silicon Valley wine buyer, the Haykins source grapes from hand-selected blocks of some of the leading vineyards and AVAs in the Napa and Sonoma Counties. To assist in finding such incredible sources, they’ve partnered with two of Napa’s leading young winemakers, Kirk Venge and Jeff Fontanella. Kirk’s talent as a winemaker is reflected in the well-balanced wines he creates for his family winery Venge Vineyards in Napa Valley. In addition to consulting for Entrepreneur Wines on their Central Napa Valley and Sonoma wines, he works with other prestigious wineries including Hunnicutt, Macauley, Trespass, Beau Vigne, JAX, and B Cellars.

The award-winning winemaker Jeff Fontanella consults on the Mount Veeder wines. A Viticulture & Enology graduate from U.C. Davis, Jeff has cultivated several of the finest wines, many of which have received 90+ point ratings from Robert Parker, Wine Spectator, and The Wine Enthusiast. Initially working as winemaker at Opus One and ZD, he later became a Winemaker at Saddleback, one of Napa Valley’s great cult wineries. In 2008, Jeff and his wife founded Fontanella Family Winery in Napa Valley.
