A quintessential boutique winery with its beginnings in the 1970s, the next chapter of Napa Valley’s Goosecross Cellars – named for the pair of geese that made the estate their home – is now being written by CEO and Vintner, Christi Coors Ficeli. Exactly how does a gal from one of America’s foremost beer families end up making wine in Napa Valley? Simply put, Christi and her husband actually met while working at a winery (Gallo). They decided one day they wanted to live in Napa Valley full time, raise a family and be a part of the community with which they fell in love. And they did just that!
Both Christi and Winemaker Bill Nancarrow brought to life their collective vision and design for the new state-of-the-art winery, a space that allows the family and guests to enjoy views unlike any other and for Bill to craft the best wine possible. With a mere 6,000 cases produced each year, Bill focuses his time and energy on growing grapes and guiding their transformation into great wine.
“Our most important wines are the ones we make from the property. This is a special little spot in the valley…we get specific characteristics we want to highlight. The winemaking philosophy for these wines is truly about excellence, but also showcasing what we have here that we think is very special.”
A visit to Goosecross is beyond stunning, with its indoor and outdoor tasting areas surrounded by estate vineyards on all sides and spectacular views of the Mayacamas Mountain Range. Christi’s goal was to “bring the outside in” and create a rustic, experiential retreat for wine tasting, vineyard strolling and relaxing.
Tasting these wines is certainly part of the exclusive experience, as visits are by appointment only – AND every single Goosecross wine is sold directly to the consumer. No grocery. No retail. The winery is the only place to find them – with a very special, limited time exception for our Cellar Angels members!
We are honored to introduce our newest winery partner and encourage you to grab these wines whenever they grace our site.
