Adam and Stacy Hersly were enjoying a successful urban life in New York City, working in and enjoying one of the busiest cities in the world with endless opportunities and social excitement. But something was missing. They had always imagined living and making wine in the heart of California’s wine country. Turning talk into action, they packed up everything and moved across the country in search of fulfillment.
With a BA in Psychology and an MA in Occupational Social Work, Stacy enjoyed her work as senior leader in human resources. She was also a devoted volunteer especially for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, which remains a focus of dedication for her. As General Manager and Assistant Winemaker of Hersly Wines, Stacy’s experience in business and fundraising serves her well in managing their growing wine company.
For Adam Hersly, dreaming started young. Always in the kitchen crafting something, an interest in the art of food construction became a fascination and an outlet, and remains so today. With his talent to create, a degree in engineering was foreseeable, but a passion for wine developed. Eventually Adam found himself in winemaking classes at the renowned UC Davis. A few internships, including one at the iconic Joseph Phelps Vineyards eventually lead to the formation of the eponymous Hersly Wines. What once was a dream on the East Coast had evolved into reality on the West Coast.
Mae, the ubiquitous and ever so cute winery dog, joined Stacy and Adam’s family in August of 2012 when she was lovingly adopted from Noah’s Bark in Sonoma. Mae enjoys spending time in the winery, helping out and supervising.
