Winemaker Chris Doran has enjoyed two careers in California’s most famous industries. After over twenty years in the entertainment business, Chris became lured by the romance of the wine industry. He began making wine with Domenico Winery in San Carlos, CA. To gain more technical knowledge Chris attended UC Davis’s small vineyard management program. He also desired more hands on experience and interned at Myriad Cellars, Rivers Marie and Kobalt Wines. Using those invaluable experiences, Chris channeled what he learned to launch J. Doran Vineyards and today makes artisan, high quality, hand-crafted wines, while personally scouting and selecting each vineyard location. Having built quite a cult following with Cellar Angels’ members, the J. Doran Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is a frequent request.
