The passion and energy of the Keller family is palpable the moment you step into the vineyards. What started out 25 years ago as just a connection to this 650 acre property by Arturo and Deborah Keller has since transformed into a vineyard and a full-fledged winery crafting world-class wines. With her father’s loving support, the Keller Estate is now in the hands of Ana Keller and is revered for producing premium wines from the famous Petaluma Gap.
Unique in location, the vineyards at Keller Estate benefit from two very important maritime influences. The cool Pacific breezes that float off the San Pablo Bay from the south and those meandering through the Petaluma Gap bathe the vines in fog every morning, allowing longer hangtime and even ripening.
Biochemist Ana Keller and Chemist Alex Holman share winemaking duties. Their vision each year is to allow the terrior to speak for itself with minimal intervention. They do this by caring for the vines and the soil through biodynamic and sustainable practices to preserve the land for generations to come. In the winery, Ana and Alex use a minimalist approach when considering modern winemaking technologies, and apply them only to refine the wine if needed.
Similar to the artistic process of making wine, Keller Estate supports artists of all kinds. Visitors can roam the grounds and view works from artists all over the world, including the buildings themselves.
