How do you measure the family pride through four generations of winemaking? What started out as a family business in Italy over a hundred years ago was transported to California’s wine country with remarkable results.

While Sciandri Family Vineyards is celebrating its 15th harvest year, it is only in the last 10 years the family has produced wine from their prized estate grapes once sold to other wineries. They hired a talented winemaker, Don Baker, who has a remarkable winemaking resume which includes experience working with the famed Joseph Phelps. With Don at the helm, Sciandri Family Vineyards is making impressive wines year after year. Part of their strategy is to cellar vintages for a few years and release wine when it is aged and ready to drink.
Another commendable characteristic about the Sciandri Family is their concern for the environment. They take careful measures to preserve the land for future generations. These practices have earned them the honorable certification under the Napa Green Certified Land Program. Napa Green is the wine industry’s most comprehensive, “best practices” program for land-use and wine production.
