A pediatric surgeon and winemaker, Dr. Craig Senders had his first impressionable wine experience 40 years ago during a river rafting trip packed with wines from the Napa Valley. With this newfound inspiration he began making wine casually at home while continuing to advance his medical career. The challenge, he discovered, was balancing his life as medical humanitarian and artisanal winemaker.
Yearning to maintain his passion for making high quality wine and to further their humanitarian goals, Craig and Karen founded Senders Wines in 2005. Now working with celebrated growers in Carneros, Oakville, and other Northern California regions, Craig produces exquisite, single vineyard wines (which he and Karen often help handpick) that are truly transforming lives. With every bottle sold, the winery donates 100% of their profits go to cleft lip & palate repair around the world– a much needed procedure that ends suffering & promotes health in communities without sufficient medical resources.
