Kim Vance has long been a wine lover and enthusiast. She and her husband David had taken countless trips to wine country over the years, but it was one visit in particular that changed the course of her life, when she met a winemaker at a tasting and was encouraged to pursue wine education. The financial sector was a great career for Kim. She did well and enjoyed her life in Houston, but after returning from wine country, Kim started making phone calls. She found a harvest intern position for a boutique winery in San Francisco and she and her husband packed their belongings and headed for Northern California.
The work was hard and dirty – the opposite from her previous desk job in Houston, but Kim loved every minute of it. She was bit by the winemaking bug. She returned to work harvests under different winemakers in Napa and Sonoma, and in between she attended night school and assisted in wine tastings and educational classes. In 2010 Kim and David made a permanent move to pursue her dream of producing her own wine.
Following her passion, she settled on Russian River Valley as an artistic canvas and focused on learning the idiosyncrasies of her favorite finicky grape, Pinot Noir and delves even deeper by showcasing clonal selections in her wines.
2016 is the sixth vintage and Zoetic Wines’ portfolio is expanding. The wine itself is developing a cult-like following. Take advantage of any opportunity to secure Zoetic Wines while it still flies under the radar. Surely it won’t stay that way.
